സ്ലം ഡോഗ് മില്യണയര് എന്ന സിനിമയെ ക്കുറിച്ച് മലയാള പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളില് വന്ന മിക്ക ലേഖനങ്ങളും വായിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നതിനാല് നിസംശയം പറയാം, പുതിയ ചിന്ത കൊണ്ടും ആഖ്യാന ശൈലികൊണ്ടും ഈ പോസ്റ്റ് വേറിട്ട് നില്ക്കുന്നു. ബേര്ലിത്തരത്തിന് ഒരു മില്യണ് പൂച്ചെണ്ടുകള് (ഇങ്ങനെ ശതകോടി പൂച്ചെണ്ട് തരാന് കാശ് ചിലവൊന്നുമില്ലല്ലോ ...!!!!!!)

ഒറിജിനല് പോസ്റ്റിലെ നടികളെ പൂശുന്ന ഭാഗം കളഞ്ഞത് നന്നായി. അന്ന് അതു പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തപ്പോ ബെര്ളിയുടെ രോഷത്തിന്റെ extremism കാണിച്ചതാണെന്നു മനസ്സിലായി. So you said it, you did it, you desrved it. അഭിനടനതിന്റെ മാലപ്പടക്കങ്ങള്.
സത്യത്തില്, ചേരിപ്രദേശങ്ങളെ കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കുന്ന, അവരുടെ മാനുഷികവികാരങ്ങള്ക്ക് വിലകല്പിക്കാത്ത ഇവിടുത്തെ പരിഷ്ക്രിത/ഉപരിവര്ഗ സമൂഹമാണ് യഥാര്ത്ഥ പട്ടികള് എന്നു സിനിമ വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നതുപോലെ തോന്നി. അതു തന്നെയാവും ഇത്രയേറെ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും കൊള്ളുവാനുള്ള കാര്യവും. --
ബ്ലോഗ് ഏകപക്ഷീയ മാധ്യമം അല്ല എന്നെങ്കിലും തിരിച്ചറിയാന് പ്രിന്റ് മീഡിയയ്ക്ക് പറ്റാതെ പോവുന്നതോ, മന:പൂര്വ്വമോ? പ്രിന്റ്-ചാനല് മാധ്യമങ്ങളോട് ആരോഗ്യകരമായി പ്രതികരിക്കാന് അവസരമില്ല. അഥവാ പ്രതികരിച്ചാല് മഹാഅസഹിഷ്ണുക്കളായ അവര് ശരിക്കും 'പ്രതി'കരിക്കും. ബ്ലോഗ് സംവാദതലത്തിലാണ്. താങ്കളുടെ ബ്ലോഗില് വന്നിരുന്ന പ്രതികരണങ്ങള് കൂടി ചേര്ക്കാത്ത പ്രിന്റ് മാധ്യമ പംക്തി അപൂര്ണമാണ്

കഷ്ടം, മാതൃഭൂമി ഇത്രയ്ക്ക് തരം താഴരുതായിരുന്നു.
ബ്ലോഗ് അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിനു അഭിനന്ദനം. പക്ഷെ അത് തികച്ചും അംഗീകരിക്കുവാനേ വയ്യാത്ത ചില കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകള്ക്കും, ആഖ്യാന ശൈല്യ്ക്കും കിട്ടിയ തെറ്റായ അംഗീകാരമായിപ്പോയി.

ഒരു ബെര്ളി ടച്ചില്ല. നടിമാരെ പൂശുന്നതും സായിപ്പ് തന്തയ്ക്ക് പിറന്നതുമൊക്കെ മെന്ഷന് ചെയ്താലെ ബെര്ളിത്തരമാവുള്ളൂ. ഇത് വായിക്കാനാണെങ്കില് മാതൃഭൂമി വാങ്ങി വായിച്ചാല് പോരേ. കമോണ് ബെര്ളിച്ചായാ കണ്ഗ്രാറ്റ്സ്. അടുത്തത് പോരട്ടെ.

He would have been torn limb from limb by critical opinion. But for a first world director to say that about the third world is considered praiseworthy, an indication of his artistic daring. The double standards of post-colonial attitudes have not yet wholly faded away." He also made similar statements at a talk given at Emory University arguing that Slumdog Millionaire "piles impossibility on impossibility." In an earlier interview with The New York Times, Rushdie also noted that he is "not a very big fan" of Slumdog Millionaire. [...] I think it’s visually brilliant. But I have problems with the story line. I find the storyline unconvincing. It just couldn’t happen. I’m not adverse to magic realism but there has to be a level of plausibility, and I felt there were three or four moments in the film where the storyline breached that rule
